MADRID/SACRAMENTO. The price developments in Spain have taken the market by surprise. For organic alomonds the situation is, however, quite different.

Organic almonds trading for EUR 9.00 per kg

Prices declined steadily in Spain at the beginning of the season. Recently, however, a noted change has been observed. Not only are the prices higher on the local spot markets, the export prices have also risen again this week. As agricultural media in Spain report, market players are hoping that the trade conflict with the US will boost sales in Europe. Prices are, nevertheless, expected to fall as soon as the new crop from California arrives.

Valencia almonds, 12/14 mm, are currently trading at EUR 6.10 per kg FC
