MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Prices are moving in different directions in the spot markets in Spain. Contrary to this, the export prices remain stable.

High ambitions in Spain

The export prices are stable in Spain for national varieties. In the local spot markets, however, the situation is different. Prices here have risen in part, while elsewhere the prices have declines.

The farmgate prices were satisfying in 2018/19 and the producers are interested in continuing to invest in almonds. Spain is increasingly seeing large, artificially irrigated orchards and the producers' goal is to increase the acreage and yields over the next few years.
