MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Good export data for US almonds and the uncertainty concerning the loss output have already had an impact in the almond market this week.

Lack of assertiveness

Prices remain relatively stable in Spain, much to the dislike of the farmers and traders who would like to see prices surging to levels not seen in two years. Nominal changes excepting, market players reckon that that price will remain stable for the time being. Although the crop estimates have been altered to 52,000-53,000 mt, these are still several thousand tonnes more than last year. There presently is no reason for prices in Spain to rise in the long run.
