SACRAMENTO. Exports of US almonds are still going well. So well in fact that market players are expecting a shortage until the arrival of the new crop.

 

Export volume is increasing further
Shipments from California increased by 8.8% to 87,972 mt in March as compared to last year, according to the Almond Board of California (ABC). A total 733,115 mt have been exported since the beginning of the season – 12% more than last year.

European buyers have imported 15% more almonds, especially Spain (+6% to 63,365 mt), Germany (+16% to 42,732 mt) and Italy (+24% to 23,360 mt). Turkey has increased imports by 5% to 19,486 mt since the beginning of the season. In March imports to this country, howeve
