MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Traders in Spain have been forced to put their customers off. Problem is that some US varieties can only be offered again after the arrival of the new crop.

The downward trend continues

The prices for Spanish almonds are in a downward spiral. In view of the promising crop estimates in Spain and the US it is hardly possible for demand to prevent prices from declining. The prices on offer for Valencia and Guara almonds are 0.05-0.15 EUR/kg cheaper than last week. This price development may be highly advantageous for the processing industry. The producers are, however, dissatisfied.
