Almonds: Late harvest delays start of the season

SACRAMENTO. The late beginning of the Californian almond harvest is making itself noticeable in the September report of the Almond Board of California both in the production figures and in the export volumes.

A total of about 76,460 mt of US almonds were delivered in the first month of the 2017/18 season, and given the declining export figures, a drop of not even 1% compared to last year is a remarkable achievement. In return, deliveries on the domestic market increased by 14% to 30,503 mt.
