Almonds: Crop is 90,000 mt below expectations

SACRAMENTO. The current production rate unexpectedly falls short of expectations. China almost imported as many US almonds in November as in the three preceding months.

 

Only 901,140 mt of almonds have been produced

The Almond Board of California has issued its November report according to which production currently only stands at 901,140 mt so far, 0.33% less than last year. Market players reckoned with a total production of 1.02-1.04 million mt and the National Agricultural Statistics Service originally estimated the crop at 1.11 million mt.
