MADRID. Concerns are being voiced in Spain. The unusually high temperatures are regarded as a great risk for the new crop.

Prices rise by up to 25 Cent/kg

Reports of temperatures climbing up to 27°C in some growing areas, such as in Levante, over the last few weeks have created a great stir in the market. Problem is that the first trees have already started to bloom and the weather has now changed. The currently cold temperatures render damages highly likely.

This development also has an impact on prices. The prices for Valencia have again risen by 0.05-0.10 EUR/kg this week. Marconas have risen by about 0.15 EUR/kg and Ramilette almonds even increased by 0.10.0.25 EUR/kg. C
