The investment fund, which is owned by the state of Hesse in Germany has acquired a 25% stake in the highly digitised company, which offers B2B solutions. Dedere (www.dedere.eu) operates two platforms. The platform www.novella-agri.com provides price information, data and forecasts on a day-to-day basis that support the food industry in making purchasing decisions. In addition, www.mundus-agri.eu makes trade and community functionalities available to all market players. The exclusive Dedere technology then connects buying and selling companies with each other and mediates commercial transactions. With the help of an integrated analysis tool, Dedere also gains valuable customer insights.
“We were convinced by Dedere's highly intelligent combination of information and trading features," as Stephan Groß, the responsible investment manager at Hessen Kapital I, explains. The extent to which the global industry hungers for a tool that generates transparency and networks market players with each other is demonstrated by the scope of the users: companies from more than 150 countries have registered with Dedere. The total number of registered customers is around 47,000.
CTO Michael Gütlich is delighted that he has come a good deal closer to his vision: "Right from the start, our goal was to help shape digitalisation in the global agricultural market - for the benefit of all market players." The Dedere CTO is responsible for technology and has many years of experience in agricultural trade. For him, the next step on this path is via the blockchain technology. In relying on digital quality certificates, a transport algorithm and smart sontracts, Dedere is in the process of optimising the entire value chain in agricultural and food trade in the direction of the blockchain technology.
At the same time, Dedere is scaling its information on offer. "In addition to German, English and Turkish we will soon be offering Dedere in other languages. We are also focusing on providing information in the fast-growing organic sector", as Martin Brückner, the CEO responsible for information services, explains in describing the next steps in developing business intelligence. The important thing now is to make Dedere even better known in the international agricultural markets by means of targeted marketing.
