IZMIR. The Turkish Minister of Agriculture has now officially opened the new season at the Izmir Commodity Exchange. In the course of which he also announced...

...that the Tariş and TMO are about to start purchasing sultanas. While the base price of the TMO for type 9 sultanas is TRY 10 per kg, the bid prices of Tariş have now also been issued. Market players, however, doubt that the government will actually buy sultanas soon as the announcement may also serve the purpose to keep the farmers satisfied.
