Sunflower seeds: USDA confirms decline in production

WASHINGTON, D.C./SOFIA. The USDA has finally revised the sunflower seed production estimates for Ukraine downwards. Suppliers in Bulgaria are, meanwhile, experiencing some problems.

Prices for Bakery kernels vary

The Eastern European sunflower seed market continues to be short of hulled kernels. Many kernels are simply too small to be hulled and farmers are reluctant to sell. This has created a backlash for some processors, who cannot meet delivery commitments. Bakery kernel prices have risen to EUR 0.90-0.95/kg DDP Germany.
