Sunflower seeds: Suppliers work to capacity

SOFIA. Due to the exchange rate, black sunflower seeds, 96% purity are trading slightly higher this week at 281 EUR/mt CPT Varna. Processors in Bulgaria are working at full capacity.

 

More expensive for now

The sunflower seed suppliers and processors in Bulgaria are very busy meeting incoming orders. They are largely working to capacity, meaning that the suppliers can now afford to raise the prices for hulled sunflower kernels. Sunflower kernels, bakery for prompt delivery are being offered from 630 EUR/mt DDP Germany. Long-term contracts are still available from 620 EUR/mt DDP Germany. Traders are optimistic and expect lower prices again from January.
