Sunflower seeds: sowing in Ukraine 26% complete

SOFIA/KYIV. The European Parliament has voted in favour of extending the duty-free regime for imports from Ukraine. Sowing in Ukraine is about a quarter complete.

Parliament votes for exemption from duty

As can be read on the European Parliament's website, MEPs have approved the extension of the temporary liberalisation measures for trade with Ukraine. 428 MEPs voted in favour and 131 against, with 44 abstentions. The extension is initially limited to a further year, and the European Commission should also be able to take immediate action if imports cause significant disruption to the EU market or the markets of EU member states.
