SOFIA. Although Bulgaria can beat the Moldavian sunflower seed production by a wide margin, the suppliers from Moldova are currently ahead in terms of the price.

Some say this, some say that

The pressure is rising on the Bulgarian sunflower seed market, so that the farmgate prices for black in shells have officially dropped again to 294 EUR/mt CPT Varna. However, market players report that this is only a theoretical price. Farmers currently do not want to sell for less than 283 EUR/mt FCA, which would raise the CPT Varna price to more than 300 EUR/mt.

Bulgarian suppliers are receiving more and more requests for September deliveries. At 660 EUR/mt DDP Germany, the offers for bakery seeds from the 2017 crop are slightly higher than the prices of the Moldavian competition. The sunflower seeds that are currently available on the market are smaller than expected and are not entirely suitable as hulled seeds.
