Sunflower seeds: prices up by 10%

SOFIA/DALIAN. The Bulgarian sunflower seed market is characterised by massive price increases this week. Meanwhile, the European Commission's forecast for EU-wide sunflower seed production has taken a surprising turn.

Up to EUR 1.00/kg for bakery kernels

In Bulgaria, the first sunflower fields are expected to be harvested next week, although market players do not expect particularly abundant yields due to the high temperatures. At the same time, however, the heat is said to have ensured that the harvest can start a little earlier than usual. It will take another two to three weeks until the sunflower seeds suitable for shelling are harvested.
