SOFIA. Hit by rain and storms, the harvest has again been interrupted in Bulgaria. Supplies are running low.

Temporary shortage

Since Bulgaria was celebrating independence this week market activities have been subdued. The delays in harvesting are also causing supplies to start to run low. In addition, the farmers are reluctant to sell at the currently low prices.

Shipments are not taking place. The prices for black in shells, 96% purity have remained stable at 294 EUR/mt CPT Varna.

The processors and suppliers are busy with running contracts and it is becoming increasingly difficult to issue orders for the end of September. Many buyers delayed purchasing to obtain cheap prices. Although supplies are low, suppliers are offering bakery kernels for 580 EUR/mt FCA.
