SOFIA. The prospects for the sunflower seed production in Bulgaria are becoming more and more promising every day. Oil World expects a rise in global production.

 

Encouraging prospects in Bulgaria

Bulgaria has witness the most rain intensive July of the last ten years. Unlike wheat and rapeseed, there is great potential for the sunflower seeds to benefit from this wet weather. That is as long as the winds are not too strong since the high sunflowers with the big heads can easily be blown over to the wet ground. Production prospects are, however, highly promising so far and estimates have recently been revised upwards.
