SOFIA. COCERAL has recently published the production estimates for Europe in 2019. Meanwhile, sowing is progressing very well in Bulgaria.

Production to decline by 4.2%

COCERAL estimates production in Europe at 10,555 mt, a decline of 4.2% over last year. Opinions, however, differ, with regards to production in Moldova. While COCERAL is reckoning that Moldova will only produce 500,000 mt, the FAO, Oil World and Trans Oil agree that annual production currently ranges above 900,000 mt. In taking these estimates into account, production could amount to as much as 10,979 mt in 2019/20.

Although acreage is set to increase in Romania, Hungary and the Ukraine, yields are expected to be lower than last
