Sultanas: unrealistic expectations

MANISA. Producers in Turkey would like farmgate prices to range at TRY 10.00 per kg. Global competition is, however, fierce.

Exports lag 10,000 metric tonnes behind

Turkey has shipped 118,705 metric tonnes of seedless dried raisins overseas since the beginning of the season, which is more than 10,000 metric tonnes less than last year. At 3,865 metric tonnes weekly exports also range considerably lower than one year ago (CW 04 2019, 4,183 metric tonnes).
