Sultanas: TMO to turn tables

MANISA. Attractive prices have finally lifted Turkey's raisin exports above last year's levels. Yet, the TMO's intention to buy may put a stop to this.

Exports up on last year

Exports have performed really well in the first two months of the current season. Turkey shipped 6,396 mt of seedless dried raisin overseas last week alone, which nearly exceeds the volumes shipped in the same week last year by 2,000 mt. This has finally prompted the country's total exports for 2022/2023 to range higher than last year. Exports have climbed to 51,417 mt since September.
