MANISA. The TMO is urging producers in Turkey to register sales by 31 December. Afterwards, the stat-owned organisation will stop purchasing. Meanwhile, the exporters are hoping that the tide will turn in 2020.

Purchases will stop at the end of the year

The TMO started purchasing at the beginning of the season to stabilise the market and to prevent the producers from having to accept low prices. This intervention will stop at the end of the year. The organisation will no longer purchase sultanas, hazelnuts and dried figs. Meanwhile, the prices remain stable in the export market.
