MANISA/CAPE TOWN. Raisins and sultanas from the producing countries in the South will soon be arriving. At the same time, the stocks in Turkey are declining rapidly.

200,000 mt have already been sold

About 200,000 mt of sultanas and raisins have already been sold in the spot market in Turkey, the remaining volumes should still be with the farmers. It is estimated that the farmers still have 60,000 mt of dried grapes at their disposal. Market players, however, disagree over the volumes left for sale. Turkey has shipped nearly 155,000 mt of sultanas and raisins overseas this season. Annual domestic demand averages around 50,000 mt.
