Sultanas: Production is at risk in 2018

MANISA. The sultana exports are now almost at last year's level. However, as with hazelnuts, the warm temperatures are not ideal for the crop.

 

Exports catch up

Nearly 120,000 mt of sultanas have been shipped abroad by Turkish exporters since the beginning of the season, just a few hundred tons less than last year. Although export prices rose significantly at the beginning of the year, the average prices are 80 USD/mt lower than in 2016/17.
