Sultanas: Production to rise in China

ÜRÜMQI/MANISA. Over the last few months, the suppliers in China have set their prices according to the price trend in Turkey. Encouraging production prospects have, however, put an end to this for the time being.

China competes with Turkey

In the Chinese province of Xinjiang, the outlook is very good. The vineyards have been spared from unfavourable weather conditions and there was no frost. Estimates state that this year’s production will outmatch last year’s production of 170,000-190,000 mt (based on INC, USDA estimates).
