MANISA. Over the last few weeks there have been speculations over the possibility that the TMO will conduct purchases. Official production estimates have now been issued.

Raisin and sultana production to range at 300,000 metric tonnes

On his official state visit to Manisa the Turkish Minster of Agriculture has confirmed market expectations. The Ministry of Agriculture estimates national production at 300,000 metric tonnes, which ranges at the higher end of expectations as traders had initially estimated production at 290,000-300,000 metric tonnes. In addition, the minister announced that the TMO does not currently intend to conduct purchases as long as prices do not drop below the newly issued base price of TRY 10 per kg.
