MANISA. This week, Turkey will start exporting table grapes. As is the case in the market for dried apricots, the unusually cold temperatures may delay the start of the export season for sultanas and raisins by a few days.

Entire prodcution to be exported

Turkey has so far shipped nearly 230,000 mt of sultanas and raisins overseas this season. If the shipments even approximately maintain the current pace, this season's exports will amount to 250,000-260,000 mt. This is about the volume that was produced last year. Eid al-Adha will be celebrated in the second week of August. Although the markets will most probably be closed for an entire week, the should be no adverese impact on availability as was the case in recent years.
