MANISA. In Turkey the grapevines should start to bloom very soon. In one to two weeks’ time the first fruit development should start to show.

This will also render more definite crop estimates easier. Market players are currently reckoning with 300,000 mt – a similarly good crop as last year.

Early harvest is possible

Turkey has so far shipped almost 186,475 mt this season. In addition, the average domestic consumption of 50,000 mt should be observed. Due to the warm temperatures the harvest may start up to two weeks earlier this year, thereby limiting the risk of scarce supplies in the transition period before the new season.
