MANISA. Harvesting is going well in Turkey. Although the market still thinks it too early to celebrate, attractive offers are already circulating for sultanas. Expectation is also that production will rise in Iran this year.

Good crop development

Temperatures range at seasonal normals in Manisa. Sunny weather with daytime temperatures at 36-40C (97-104F) and overnight temperatures at 24-26C (75-79F) is providing ideal conditions in the vineyards. As the weather turned hot at the beginning of June harvesting may start one week earlier. The vineyards are in a good state and no diseases have been spotted so far, whereas rain and humidity caused considerable problems last year.
