Sultanas: extreme heat to hit Manisa

MANISA. Temperatures in Turkey are expected to reach up to 40°C in the coming days. The examination of the grape fields in Manisa should enable a better forecast of the crop. Meanwhile, it is reported that due to last week's holidays, sultana exports came to a standstill.

Export business has to cut back

Due to the Eid ul-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice) holiday week, dried fruit exports from Turkey have come to a brief standstill. According to official data, the export volume has not changed compared to last week and is still said to be 199,603 mt. In contrast, 4,073 mt of sultanas and raisins were shipped overseas in the same week last year.
