Sultanas: exports continue at full speed

MANISA. Exports continued at full speed in Turkey at the beginning of the month. Last week…

… the export volume rose 5% higher than the value recorded one year ago. This season's total exports are, however, lagging more than 2% behind last year's volumes. Trading is, however, already considerably subdued at the commodity exchanges. The approaching Christmas season most certainly has a noted impact. Market players state that only half of this year's prodcution has been sold in the free market so far. The farmers are holding back the other half in a bid to drive up prices. Farmgate prices currently range at TRY 9.60-9.90 per kg.
