MANISA. With this year’s production ranging at 305,000 metric tonnes Turkey accounts for as much as 28% of global production, which is estimated at 1.29 million metric tonnes. The exporters are, however, far from satisfied with their performance.

Turkey has shipped 89,055 metric tonnes of seedless dried raisins overseas this season so far, which is 3,000 metric tonnes less than last year. The average export prices, however, also range higher at USD 2.03 per kg. There currently are no new enquiries. Market players are, nevertheless, convinced that they will benefit from the trade dispute between China and the US and that shipments to China will rise.
