Sultanas: Damages reported in Manisa

MANISA. Hail and rain have caused damage in Manisa. Initial estimates are now available.

 

Damage is estimated at 10%

The sultanas have currently been laid out to dry. This means that any sudden changes in weather pose a particular danger. And the fears prove true on Tuesday when heavy rains and hail caused considerable damage. Market players currently estimate that approximately 10% of the goods were damaged.

So far, this has not had any great influence on prices. Only the prices for the new crop of sultanas, type 9, have risen by 50 USD/mt last week. Prompt shipments until December are currently being offered for 1650 USD/mt FOB.
