Sugar: Contract prices becoming even more attractive

FRANKFURT. The end of the EU sugar quota draws nearer every day and the high production outlook is putting more and more pressure on the prices.

The pressure is rising
Offers for sugar contracts from the new 2017/18 campaign have already reached a level of 0.47 EUR/kg DDP Germany. Prices close to the 40-cent mark were also already being discussed. And traders are certain that the low point for this season has not been reached yet. Buyers are therefore in no hurry to conclude long-term contracts and can still take their time.
