GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and turmeric, chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

After cumin prices had already shot up last week, there have been further significant increases. Due to the conflict in Ukraine, prices had fallen briefly, prompting stockists to stock up generously. This, in turn, drove prices massively up again. Since the crop is expected to be small, traders hope to be able to sell their goods at even higher prices in the course of the season. The relatively small crop is due to the irregular rainfall last year, which also had a negative impact on quality. A crop volume of 316,281 mt is expected, compared to 391,801 mt last
