GUJARAT. Weekly monitoring with the latest market information from India on cumin, coriander and chilli, black pepper and cardamom as well as a price list for more than 70 products.

Cumin

Cumin arrivals at the markets have fallen sharply and there is currently virtually no demand for the spice. Not even large stockists and exporters are stocking up, leaving just under 40% of the crop with growers. China is currently offering its goods at the same price as India, but reliable export figures are not available and the situation is somewhat opaque. However, the chances of the country importing large quantities of cumin from India are rather slim.
