CHICAGO. The US soy market dropped below the mark of USD 9.00 per bushel. The US trade was responsible for this due to the general uncertainty of the markets in view of the spread of the corona virus in China and the lack of export demand from Beijing. Brazil's expected record crop also pushed prices down.

In the USA, soybeans in Chicago fell again by 15 cents and are quoted at 890.00 cents per bushel. This is due to fears of a worse development of the global economy, especially the nervousness about the spread of the corona virus in China and the rest of Asia, as the first cases in Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the USA have been recorded. In the USA, exporters are waiting for export orders from China after the signing of the partial agreement, which is likely to drag on until early February or later due to the Chinese Ney Year festivities.
