Soybean production is estimated to be 9.1 million tonnes: SOMA

Indore Soybean production in the current kharif season in the country is estimated to be 9.14 million tonnes in 2017-18, which was 11.49 million tonnes in the previous season, which will be 20% lower. Whereas the central government has stated that it should be 12.2 million tonnes in the first advance estimate.

In this way, SOPA has released an estimated 25% less soybean production than the government. However, heavy carrier forward stock will keep its supply quite comfortable. 

SOPA: says that the farmers turned towards other better crops, like cotton, which are giving more returns than soybean.

Industry and government unanimous on soybean production

Even this year, the simplest and the government is unanimous on soybean production. According to the fourth advance estimation of the Central Government, soybean production in 2016-17 is 13.8 million tonnes, which is much higher than that of SOPA of 11.5 million tonnes. People associated with the industry say that generally the estimates of the government are 8-10% higher than the industry estimates. But the difference of 33% is unusual. According to Simple President David Jain, the main reason for the reduction in soybean production is the reduction in the area. In addition, irregular rainfall has reduced the yield per acre.

Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) estimates that in the year 2017-18, there will be 9.14 million tonnes of soybean production in the country, which was 11.49 million tonnes last year. In the current kharif crop year, in Madhya Pradesh 4.53 million tonne compared to 5.71 million tonne, 3.13 million tonne in Maharashtra compared to 3.94 million tonne, Rajasthan is estimated to produce 0.76 million ton of soyabean against 0.94 million tonne. .

138,000 tonnes compared to 240,000 tonnes in Andhra Pradesh, 220,000 tonnes against 250,000 tonnes in Karnataka, 110,000 tonnes in Chhattisgarh compared to 130,000 tonnes, 110,000 tonnes more than 130,000 tonnes in Gujarat and in other states Compared to 110,000 tonnes, it is estimated that 60000 tonnes of soybean would be produced.

NAFAD started buying soybean in Rajasthan

New Delhi: National Agricultural Co-operative Marketing Federation of India (NAFAD has started buying soybean in Rajasthan from Saturday. According to NAFAD official, 13 procurement centers have been opened in Rajasthan, Jhalawar, Bundi and Baran districts for procurement of soyabean in Rajasthan. NAFAD bought the farmers from 150 farmers at the minimum support price of 300 tonnes of soyabean  at US$470  per mt. on the first day.

Explain that the Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) has released 0.762 million tonnes of soybean in Rajasthan in the Kharif crop year 2017-18. This production was 0.949 million tonnes last year.
