Sesame seeds: no tenders expected until the end of the year

NEW DELHI. Indian sesame seed farmers are optimistic about the crop and expect an increase in yields compared to last year. Only in Gujarat can production not keep up.

Cultivation to increase by 15%

The majority of Indian sesame seed farmers are satisfied with the upcoming crop. In the main growing states such as Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, market players expect an increase in production compared to last year. Only in isolated regions the heavy rainfall is said to have caused significant damage to the crops. Overall, however, a plus of 10-15% is expected.
