Sesame seeds: new tender to be issued soon

NEW DELHI. As the shipments for the last tender from South Korea have just been completed, the market already has the next tender in view. Arrivals have declined. Suppliers from India are having trouble competing with their colleagues in Africa.

Subdued demand

Subdued domestic demand has pushed the prices for white and for black sesame seeds down. Even the decline in arrivals has so far failed to give the market any notable support. Export demand is also very much subdued as offers for the new crop in Africa are much more attractive and stocks in China are reportedly well filled.
