Sesame seeds: Surprising bids from India

NEW DELHI. The result of the South Korean "emergency" tender has been announced. As in the last tender, bidders from China were also awarded the contract, Traders from India ...

 

 

... did not go away empty-handed this time either. Suppliers from Pakistan contribute the largest share to the tender and the remaining amount was awarded to Myanmar. South Korea had requested 4,000 mt, and a total of 7,500 mt were offered from the various exporting countries.

Despite the currently high prices, some exporters in India were successfully able to offer a total of 900 mt for less than 2,000 USD/mt. An additional 300 mt were sold for 2,042 USD/mt.
