NEW DELHI. The floods in India have caused prices to rise again at the beginning of the week. Now the weather has improved and the prices are stable.

Stable prices

Flooded fields are to be resown over the next few days. New crop estimates are to be published next week. The harvest is expected to be delayed.

The prices for hulled sesame seeds rose to 1.51 USD/mt CIF Hamburg last week and have so far not changed. As higher prices may deter buyers it is highly unlikely that the market will witness any further price increases.
