NEW DELHI/SEOUL. The result of the current tender from South Korea has been announced and the country has purchased significantly less sesame seeds than planned. Contrary to the fears of market players, however, exporters from India were able to gain a decisive share.

Two countries win the race

According to the original tender of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, a total of 12,000 mt of sesame seeds were to be purchased through the August tender. However, as the result shows, the total quantity comes to just 9,000 mt. According to official records, two companies from Pakistan and six companies from India each won the tender. Indian exporters' share of the tender totals 6,900 mt, more than two-thirds of the actual quantity purchased.

African origins did not participate in this tender. Accordi
