NEW DELHI. Exporters in India are busy stocking up in anticipation of the upcoming South Korean tender. As much as 10,600 mt are set to be tendered next week.

 

Drastic price rises
The few weeks have seen the sesame seed market in turmoil as heavy rains were said to have destroyed large parts of the crop and massive losses are expected. Traders, however, now state that there is no need for concern. At least in Gujarat, it has remained dry and the crop size is good. Market players also report that the quality is very good.

The market has nevertheless witnessed drastic increases. In preparation for the upcoming sesame seed tender exporters in India are increasingly stocking up on goods and demand is high
