Sesame seeds: Production estimates for 2019/2020

NEW DELHI. Market analysts are currently reckoning with a recovery in production in India. Global production is also expected to rise.

Global production to rise by 2.4%

Oil World estimates global production in 2019/2020 at 5.6 million metric tonnes , which is an increase of 2.4% over last season. After production proved rather disppointing in India last year, the yields are expected to improve for the new crop. Problem, however, is that drought is currently delaying sowing.
