NEW DELHI. The sesame seed market in India is in turmoil. Exporters have now …

… gone down in price. They were prompted to act by the sluggish demand situation.

Lackluster demand prompt price drops

The prices for sesame seeds have declined further. While hulled sesame seeds were still trading for 2,450 USD/mt only a few hours ago, the prices have now dropped to 2,425 USD/mt. Natural sesame seeds are now trading for 2,120 USD/mt. There simply are not enough enquiries in the market with buyers being covered until Christmas and the lackluster demand has prompted the exporters to go down in price.
