NEW DELHI/ABUJA. Weather developments in India are causing concern among market players. In Nigeria, however, the removal of subsidies is expected to drive up transport costs.

Prices are rising

Despite the good cultivation forecasts for Gujarat, prices in the Indian sesame seed market are moving steadily upwards. Market players are worried about the monsoon rains in combination with the weather phenomenon El Niño. Many suppliers are holding back their goods for the time being, especially as some exporters hope to successfully participate in the current sesame seed tender totalling 8,100 mt next week.
