Sesame seeds: price hike continues

NEW DELHI. Trading has revived in the sesame seed marekt as a new tender is expected anytime soon. Covid-19 restrictions have also been eased in India. This certainly has an impact on prices.

Demand expected to rise

As South Korea will issue a tender anytime soon and upcountry demand is up prices are expected to rise. The lifting of the lockdown in India will facilitate exports and should should drive up demand in the next few months. Prices are up for hulled sesame seeds as only limited supplies in good quality are available. For hulled sesame seeds it is next to impossible to obtain any offers.
