NEW DELHI/ABUJA. As a result of small crops and high prices, many traders, for instance in China, are turning to sesame seeds from Africa. According to the reports...

...China has been purchasing African sesame seeds at a price of 1,450 USD/mt. Traders in India are also increasingly relying on imported goods. 2,700-2,800 containers of sesame seeds should be shipped from Somalia, Nigeria, Sudan and Burkina Faso to India by February 2019.

At this time, hardly a day goes by without Indian sesame seed suppliers lowering their export prices. Purchasing interest from abroad is weakening and demand is also low on the domestic market.
