Sesame seeds: Indian prices too high for South Korea?

NEW DELHI. The first South Korean sesame seed tender should be opened by the end of February this year. Now, market participants are reporting on delays.

Stalling tactic
Instead of by the end of February – as previously announced – the tender is now slated to open in March, and there’s no exact date known yet. The official government release of the tender offer is still in the works.

South Korea intended to procure around 10,000 mt of sesame seeds through this tender, of which 4,000 mt of premium quality and 6,000 mt of standard quality.
