Sesame seeds: India fears loss of pole position

NEW DELHI. In view of the current developments in the international sesame seed market, Indian market players fear losing their top position if not at least a certain amount of sesame seeds are produced. Demand remains low, which also affects prices.

Price trend continues

Prices in the Indian sesame seed market remain continue last week's trend. Unhulled sesame seeds, sortex-cleaned, 99.95% purity are holding their level of USD 1,640/mt FOB India. Both hulled and black sesame seeds, however, have once again become noticeably cheaper due to the lack of trading activity.
